Big Changes for Joyful Noise!

Dear Friends of Joyful Noise!,
We deeply appreciate your past support of Joyful Noise! and are writing with news of big changes. Due to a variety of reasons, funding for Joyful Noise! by Oakdale Emory has been substantially reduced. These funding cuts include money for music, equipment, and our Summer Outreach Tour, as well as a 50% reduction of the salaries for the director and co-director (Tom & Becki). Rather than scale back this vital ministry, we believe God is creating an opportunity to expand the outreach of Joyful Noise!
Tom remains on staff at Oakdale Emory as director of the Joyful Noise! youth choir, which will continue to sing on Sunday mornings and rehearse on Wednesday nights. To continue the extensive historical aspects of the ministry of Joyful Noise! and to facilitate its future growth, we have formed Joyful Noise! Ministries, Inc.; a non-profit corporation dedicated to Christian ministry to, with, for, and through youth and young adults. This strategic decision is carried out with the complete support and encouragement of the Oakdale Emory leadership. Joyful Noise! Ministries, Inc., with Becki as president, will produce the Concerts for Compassion, Summer Outreach Tour, communication and logistical functions, and production of CDs & DVDs, as well as everything else that goes beyond the scope of JN! singing for worship services. In addition, our vision is to expand the reach of Joyful Noise! to impact young adults. With reduced funding from Oakdale Emory, the work of Joyful Noise! can only continue and grow with the support of your tax-deductible donations.
Over the years, Joyful Noise! has included more than 1,000 youth in the joy of having fun and praising the Lord! Together, with your support, we have raised well over $1,000,000 to alleviate the suffering of children trapped in desperate poverty. In partnership with Compassion International, an organization dedicated to child relief and development around the world, the ministry of Joyful Noise! has truly had a global impact.
